CamelBak MULE vs HAWG

Are you currently confused in choosing between CamelBak MULE and CamelBak HAWG? When we hear the name ‘CamelBak,’ perhaps we can’t help but think about the hump on the back of a camel. Well, this image may also come to the mind of the manufacturer upon seeing its product being worn on the back of a man. Oh, well, let’s stop thinking about camels and focus on the products in our hands.

CamelBak MULE vs HAWG

CamelBak MULE and CamelBak HAWG are nothing ugly. Both are cool and neat, and either of them can be an excellent gear for your trip. CamelBak MULE and CamelBak HAWG are specially designed hydration packs that are able to hold and provide water easy for you to drink, as well as to function as a bag where you can store some equipment and tools. However, HAWG is slightly more expensive than MULE. Why?

Size and Capacity
The most obvious reason behind the price difference is, of course, the capacity of the bag. CamelBak HAWG is noticeably larger in size due to having a bigger bag capacity. It has been designed to be able to carry rain gear, helmet, tools, phone, lunch, and keys all at once. Nevertheless, due to being bigger, you also need to consider if the size will bother your movement. (Read also : CamelBak M.U.L.E. vs CamelBak Blowfish)

Reaching for the objects trapped in the most bottom part of the bag can also be pretty difficult. On the other hand, CamelBak MULE is comparably smaller, so the bag can’t contain as many things as the HAWG. However, MULE has tried to compensate by having three exterior pockets and three interior slip pockets where you can put your smaller tools and equipment. Being smaller, this model will be less of a hindrance to your mobility and agility. Taking objects out from the bag is also easier.

Note that despite the sizes, CamelBak MULE and CamelBak HAWG have similar water reservoir capacity. Their antidote reservoirs feature the Quick Link system with an easy to open/close cap. Both will keep your water fresh and healthy to drink.

Color Variants
Another difference between CamelBak MULE and CamelBak HAWG is the available color variants. Quite interestingly, MULE is available in more color variants. There are Charcoal, Andean Toucan, Exuberance, Barbados Cherry, and Electric Blue models. On the other hand, CamelBak HAWG is only available in three color variants, which are charcoal, barbados cherry, and electric blue.
